Volunteer Opportunities - Board Directors WantedDo you have a passion for Storytelling? Do you know someone who likes to hear a good story -- or even tell one? Someone who sees storytelling as an innovative and imaginative reflection of the community? Latitudes Storytelling Festival is a volunteer-driven charitable organization. We love stories for adults and children alike, and aim to create an imaginative, innovative and creative environment in which to hear those stories. For us, the important thing is that the story gets told, whatever way it takes to tell it. We are currently looking for FOUR board members who represent the diversity of our community, including youth, adults 50+, and male. The commitment is to attend board meetings one evening a month (once a week in the month or so before the festival, June 25-26, 2011); contribute to discussion, brainstorming and partnership-building, and pitch in on festival weekend. The commitment is for two years. Skills or experience in the following categories is desirable, but not necessary:
Have Your Say!Tell us what you think about us! Have you been to our festival, or one of our events held throughout the year? Have you seen us at The Word on the Street in Victoria Park? Or maybe you've volunteered with us. . . We'd like to know your impressions of the festival, so we can be sure we're providing the programming that you want to see. There are two ways to complete the survey. Fill out this survey (pdf), and return it to us, or for a more in-depth opportunity to let us know what you think, you can complete our online survey. |
