Special Events

The stories don't stop when the tents come down at the end of the festival. We also participate in other events throughout the year.

The Word on the Street

Look for us on Literacy Lane this September at
The Word on the Street book and magazine festival.

We'll tickle your imagination as you interact with words, help us write poetry on the spot or sit for a moment with your kids on a cushy pillow, and read a favourite children's book.

Storyteller Sally Warrington will also appear.

Date: September 28, 2008

David Francey

Latitudes Storytelling Festival presented Juno Award winner David Francey, with Craig Werth, in concert on June 21, 2008.

Singer/songwriter Mandippal Jandu opened.

Meri Kahani (My Story)

In partnership with the Kitchener-Waterloo Sexual Assault Support Centre, we brought Meri Kahani (My Story) to Kitchener-Waterloo on May 9, 2008.

Performed by University of Toronto social work masters students, Meri Kahani tells the stories of new immigrant women: their experiences of abuse, the agencies who help them, and the hope that lies below the surface.

Singer/songwriter Mandippal Jandu also appeared.
